Porcelain Veneers & Dental Bonding Boise ID

Smiling Woman | Dental BondingIt would be nice if we were all born with picture-perfect smiles, but of course many of us were not. The problem may be something minor, like a slight tooth misalignment or uneven spaces between teeth. But when it’s your smile, it feels like those flaws are the only thing people notice about you!

Fortunately, dental materials and techniques have come a long way in recent years. Now it’s possible for most anyone to have a smile that turns heads and boosts self-confidence. At Atlantis Dental Care, we offer two procedures – porcelain veneers and dental bonding – to fix a wide variety of problems.

The Beauty of Porcelain Veneers

At one time, many people thought of porcelain veneers as a costly treatment available only to a lucky few. Times have changed! Now, because of beautiful new materials that are widely available, more people than ever can enjoy the benefit of a perfectly beautiful smile.

A veneer is a super-thin shell of porcelain placed on the surface of a natural tooth to mask dental imperfections. Dental porcelain is a beautiful material that closely mimics the appearance of natural tooth enamel, blending seamlessly with surrounding teeth. This quality allows us to place just one veneer or several, depending on your needs.

Veneers correct a number of dental flaws:

  • Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth
  • Uneven gaps and spaces between teeth
  • Severely stained or discolored teeth
  • Slight tooth misalignment

Smiling Man | Atlantis DentalDental Bonding, an Affordable Alternative

Veneers are a perfect solution for many problems, but we do have access to other materials that make your cosmetic treatment even more affordable. Today we use a special tooth-colored material for dental fillings that can also be used to correct many of the same problems as veneers.

Dr. Cantwell will layer different shades of filling material so that it closely matches your natural tooth color. He then gradually builds up the damaged areas of your tooth to restore chips, cracks, and breaks. He can also use dental bonding to fill in large or uneven spaces between teeth and to conceal a badly stained tooth.

Both procedures are very effective, and the one we choose will depend on your own unique needs. Dr. Cantwell will take the time to talk with you and explain both options, and together we can decide which treatment is right for you.
