If you have been living with missing teeth, you may not even realize the many ways it takes a toll on your quality of life. You may have adapted by hiding your smile or shifting food in your mouth to find a comfortable position to chew. Worse yet, you may skip nutritious foods like fruits and vegetables because you simply lack the function to chew them.

Could Dental Implants Help You?

Have you ever considered dental implants and how the procedure might improve your outlook on life? Researchers at Al Jouf University College of Dentistry in Saudi Arabia set out to determine how patients perceived their quality of life before implant placement and again at one, two, and three years post placement.

The Survey Says Yes!

A group of 39 men and women answered questions about quality-of-life related concerns like physical pain, physical disability, functional limitation, and psychological and social disability.

The results were dramatic; in every one of the factors tested, patients reported a higher quality of life one year after implant placement. Across the board, there was a significant improvement in how they perceived their quality of life.
